Dr. Seth Feuerstein is the chief medical officer of medical and digital innovation at Magellan Healthcare. In this role, he leads the development of effective digital, business and clinical programs that leverage technology in several areas with a focus on improving healthcare and business processes. Feuerstein, a psychiatrist by training, is a successful investor [he co-founded and was a general partner at Elm Street Ventures in New Haven] and entrepreneur who most recently founded Cobalt Therapeutics where he was CEO until its acquisition by Magellan. Cobalt developed a virtual care platform offering digital therapeutic programs for several conditions to achieve better health, better care, and better value. He is considered a thought leader on the evolving use of software as a clinical tool.
Feuerstein serves on the clinical faculty at the Yale School of Medicine, on the advisory board of the Yale Center for Biomedical and Interventional Technology, and as a psychiatrist for the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. He has twice been named a Healthcare Hero by New Haven Magazine. Feuerstein is actively involved in the community, having launched Little Wonder, a non-profit organization that supports cancer patients and their loved by leveraging technology to improve their treatment experience with positive non-treatment related events to drive improved personal and clinical outcomes.
In addition to his medical degree, Feuerstein also has a law degree, which he has used to address gaps in care. His background and ongoing work in venture investment management and corporate management continues to focus on early-stage technology driven enterprises, and the integration of technology in larger organizations working with multiple stakeholders. He also sits on the boards of several for-profit and non-profit companies
Feuerstein received his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University, his medical and law degrees from New York University, and completed his medical internship and residency at Yale University.
