Marilyn Cook, LSCSW, has more than 30 years of leadership and management experience in behavioral health and human service organizations, including community mental health centers. Ms. Cook currently serves as the Executive Director of COMCARE of Sedgwick County, where she oversees and provides direction for eight programs at the state’s largest community mental health center. Ms. Cook has held this role since 2002; prior to this, she was the organization’s clinical director for nine years. Ms. Cook also worked at the St. Francis Regional Medical Center, where she served as both the organization’s Administrative Director of Behavioral Health and the Assistant Director of Treatment Services. Ms. Cook currently serves as a board member for both the Child Advocacy Center of Sedgwick County and the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. She is also an active member of Kansas Health Solutions, the managed care organization for Medicaid mental health benefits in Kansas. In addition to her leadership roles, Ms. Cook has served on various committees for The State Association of Community Mental Health Centers of Kansas including the By-Laws and Regulations Committee. She also frequently presents testimony on mental health issues. Ms. Cook earned both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Michigan State University, where she served as a Practicum Instructor for Master’s degree students. Ms. Cook is also a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker from the State of Kansas.
