Advancing Crisis Care With Carelon Through Data-Driven Technology

by

A crisis system of care creates a stronger care continuum, acting as a bridge between outpatient care and inpatient services. It reduces repeated ER visits and hospitalizations and creates better outcomes through stabilization. Data shows that a strong crisis system of care also reduces downstream costs for Medicaid and other payers. Hear from Carelon Behavioral Health, one of the nation’s largest managed behavioral health organizations, with a network of over 120,000 providers, on their Crisis Administrative Service Organization (crisis ASO) model. This model serves as an “air traffic control” center and provides oversight of the crisis system. Using technology, the ASO can link multiple crisis providers and services within a single proprietary platform, which enables closed-loop referrals.

During this session, attendees will learn:

  • How Carelon’s crisis service system integrates advanced technology and system management with direct crisis care delivery for a rapid, caring response to those in need
  • Hear how publicly funded crisis service systems can promote quality, compassion and accountability
  • The benefits of a crisis ASO including provider management, blended and braided funding, quality oversight, and data analytics that can guide a state to a more efficient and effective system
